International Relations Program
The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is working throughout the world to ensure the fish and wildlife agencies of the United States and Canada are well represented on conservation issues. While we are known foremost for our success in the United States and throughout North America , we understand that in order to achieve our conservation goals, we must dedicate ourselves to addressing the global challenges that have the potential to impact on our wildlife here at home.
Focusing on issues from CITES, the Association's Don MacLauchlan and the working groups he helps coordinate, are working around the world to ensure our international relationships are strong. Wildlife management issues abroad, if left ignored, could have dire consequences on the wildlife management issues of our member agencies. However, if we work together to manage each challenge globally, our efforts can produce positive results.
With more than a hundred years of experience based on science, research and management, a far-reaching international network, and a history of achieving conservation results, the Association is uniquely qualified to address these challenges on behalf of our member agencies.
