Special Session at SEAFWA Provides New Data on Coastal and Freshwater Conservation Efforts
The recent annual conference of the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA), held in Norfolk , VA , November 5-8, included a special session on regional aquatic resources conservation planning and a federal panel on aquatic habitat restoration and research activities.
The panel, which included six federal agencies, pressented papers on research priorities and restoration activities of ongoing aquatic restoration actions and on current research and monitoring efforts related to freshwater and coastal habitat restoration. Overviews of current projects, discussions about cooperative ventures, and contact information for each agency were also presented and discussed.
A summary of the federal panel presentations will soon be made available on the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies' and USGS websites. An update will be available in the next "Fish & Wildlife Focus."
